About me
I, Dr. Umme Romaan, a dedicated academician and pathologist with over 4 years of experience in diagnostic pathology, medical education, and research, currently am serving as an Assistant Professor of Pathology at SIMSRC, SNPS University with active involvement in UG and PG teaching, histopathological diagnosis, laboratory quality assurance, and academic mentoring and expertise in hematology, cytopathology, and clinical pathology. My academic interests are medical education and research
Interests: My research interests encompass hematopathology, clinical pathology, laboratory medicine, and critical care diagnostics, with a particular focus on the role of hematological and laboratory biomarkers in the early detection and prognostication of infectious diseases. Additionally my postgraduate research evaluated the efficacy of platelet and reticulocyte parameters for the early diagnosis of sepsis in ICU patients, fostering a strong interest in hematological alterations in critical illness, and their clinical applications. I am interested in exploring novel diagnostic and prognostic markers, clinicopathological correlations, and evidence-based laboratory approaches that facilitate timely diagnosis and improve patient outcomes. Additional areas of interest include hematological disorders, quality assurance in laboratory medicine, and medical education.
