About me

I am an AI and Data Science leader with 14+ years of experience in Machine Learning, Generative AI, NLP, and Healthcare Analytics. Currently, I lead AI initiatives at Optum, developing enterprise-scale solutions for healthcare, fraud detection, and intelligent automation. I mentor students in AI/ML research, Generative AI, healthcare analytics, and career development, helping them connect academic concepts with real-world applications and industry best practices.

Interests: My primary research interest is the application of Artificial Intelligence to improve healthcare outcomes, operational efficiency, and decision-making. I am particularly interested in developing AI systems that can leverage structured and unstructured healthcare data to support fraud detection, payment integrity, clinical insights, risk prediction, and intelligent workflow automation. My current areas of focus include Generative AI, Large Language Models (LLMs), Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), Agentic AI, predictive analytics, and explainable AI for healthcare applications. I am especially interested in how AI can be used to extract insights from complex medical and administrative documents, automate knowledge-intensive workflows, and assist healthcare professionals in making more informed decisions. I also have a strong interest in responsible AI, including model governance, fairness, transparency, and the safe deployment of AI systems in regulated healthcare environments. My research goal is to bridge the gap between cutting-edge AI innovation and practical healthcare solutions that improve patient outcomes, reduce administrative burden, enhance fraud and risk detection, and create more efficient healthcare systems.
