About me
Consultant Microbiologist with 10+ years’ experience in TB research, drug resistance testing, molecular diagnostics, and 9 years of teaching experience. Currently at ICMR–National Institute for Research in Tuberculosis under the National TB Elimination Programme, specializing in LPA, DST, BSL-3 operations, and certified in EQA/PT implementation. Research interests include AMR, MDR pathogens, biofilms, and AI-driven TB diagnostics. Recipient of FEMS Grant (2019) and BMGF Travel Award (2021).
Interests: My research focuses on tuberculosis and antimicrobial resistance, particularly the molecular mechanisms of drug resistance in Mycobacterium tuberculosis and the strengthening of rapid diagnostic approaches such as Line Probe Assay under the National TB Elimination Programme at ICMR–National Institute for Research in Tuberculosis. I am interested in integrating artificial intelligence for improved interpretation of drug susceptibility testing and enhancing laboratory surveillance systems. My broader research areas include biofilms, quorum sensing inhibition, and the discovery of bioactive compounds from marine and plant sources targeting MDR pathogens. Through translational microbiology, I aim to bridge laboratory research with public health implementation to improve TB control and infectious disease management.
