About me
Biotechnologist with 5 years of research experience in microbiology and molecular techniques. Experienced in recombinant protein expression and purification, qPCR, ELISA, Western Blot with strong skills in experimental design, quality control, and problem-solving. Proven ability to manage lab operations and translate research into practical applications.
Interests: My research interest lies in the field of microbiology, focused on antimicrobial resistance (AMR). I have submitted my thesis on “Elucidating the role of outer membrane protein-based resistance to antibiotics and bacteriophages in Acinetobacter baumannii” and awaiting graduation. My research interest lies in the field of microbiology, focused on antimicrobial resistance (AMR). In my doctoral research I explored the role of outer membrane proteins in the development of antibiotic and bacteriophage resistance in the multidrug resistant nosocomial pathogen A. baumannii. Through this research, I have acquired strong expertise in antimicrobial susceptibility testing and detection of resistance determinants, phage isolation and characterization, molecular cloning, generation of bacterial gene deletion mutant, mammalian cell culture, handling animal models like Wistar rats and Drosophila melanogaster and other microbiological techniques, and has resulted in peer-reviewed publications. I also have prior experience in working with Vibrio parahaemolyticus in my M.Sc. dissertation where I worked on Type III secretion system chaperone. My long-term research goal is to find strategies to combat AMR pathogens for the community and global health.
