About me

PhD in Applied Physics & Materials Engineering, with expertise in magnetic materials and sensor development for real-world applications. Author of 9 SCI journal publications, 3 patents filed & 2 technology transfers and a key contributor to the development and commercialization of advanced magnetic sensing devices. 6 years of research experience at CSIR-NML focused on magnetic materials and the development of electromagnetic sensors for structural monitoring of engineering steel structures.

Interests: My research centers on the development of advanced magnetic materials and their integration into high-performance sensing devices for industrial applications. My research work focuses on: (1) Magnetic materials: Development and processing of magnetostrictive alloys in ribbon and microwire forms. (2) Magnetostrictive and Giant Magneto-Impedance (GMI) phenomena: Fundamental and applied studies on magnetostriction and GMI effects, including stress-induced anisotropy, thermal effects, and domain behavior in microwires. (3) Magnetic sensor design and development: Design, fabrication, and optimization of Magnetostrictive sensors (MsS) and GMI-based array sensors for detecting defects, weak magnetic fields, and structural anomalies. (4) Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) and Structural Health Monitoring (SHM): Application of magnetic sensing technologies for size and position of flaw detection in Pipes, detection of presence of feeble fields in industrial components under real conditions. (5) Translation of research to technology: Strong emphasis on lab-to-industry transition, including Prototype development (MagStrics, MagRays), Technology transfer and field deployment Industry collaboration (e.g., NTPC projects), Multiphysics modeling and simulation using COMSOL Multiphysics to simulate magnetic behavior and validate experimental findings. (6) Emerging directions: Magnetocaloric materials for refrigeration, Hybrid Heusler–amorphous magnetostrictive systems.
