About me
My research interests converge at the intersection of English Language Education, Business English, ESP, and interdisciplinary humanities, with focus on aligning language education with industry demands and educational policy. I investigate Needs Analysis in engineering curricula, multilingualism and linguistic diversity in Indian contexts, and digital communication in language learning.
Interests: My research interests converge at the dynamic intersection of English Language Education, Business English, ESP (English for Specific Purposes), and interdisciplinary humanities. I investigate how language education can be strategically aligned with industry demands, educational policy frameworks, and evolving professional communication needs, with particular emphasis on technical and engineering educational contexts. A central pillar of my research is Needs Analysis in English Language Teaching, where I focus on identifying and addressing critical gaps between existing engineering curricula and workplace communication requirements. My work systematically explores reading and writing competencies, examines academic-professional discourse mismatches, and incorporates early-career professionals' perspectives into curriculum development processes. I am particularly invested in syllabus design informed by NEP 2020 principles, outcome-based education frameworks, and employability-oriented language training that prepares students for real-world professional challenges. My scholarship also engages deeply with multilingualism, linguistic diversity, and linguistic human rights, with specific attention to the Indian and Odishan contexts. I examine how multilingual realities shape learning experiences, influence identity formation, and affect access to educational opportunities. This work explores how inclusive language policies can support equitable academic and professional growth, ensuring that linguistic diversity becomes an asset rather than a barrier in education and employment. Additionally, I investigate digital and multimodal communication in contemporary educational settings, including cross-cultural communication dynamics, academic and professional writing in digital environments, and the pedagogical integration of technology in language learning. My research considers how digital platforms transform communication practices and what implications these transformations hold for language education and professional preparedness. My interdisciplinary interests extend to contemporary literature, eco-critical and eco-mythical narratives, law and literature intersections, and discourse studies. This broad scholarly engagement enables me to adopt a holistic and socially grounded approach to both research and mentoring, recognizing that language education exists within larger cultural, environmental, legal, and social frameworks. Through this integrative lens, I aim to contribute research that is not only academically rigorous but also socially relevant and practically applicable to the evolving needs of students, institutions, and professional communities.
