About me
Life Sciences researcher with 8+ years of experience in genetics, genomics, molecular biology, bioinformatics, and phenotyping. Currently pursuing a PhD in Population Genetics at National Taiwan University. Strong academic background in Botany and Zoology through M.Sc. and M.Phil. in Biosciences. Experienced in research, data analysis, scientific writing, and mentoring students across diverse life science disciplines.
Interests: My research interests lie in evolutionary biology, population genetics, ecological and landscape genomics, and understanding how environmental factors and climate change shape the adaptation and evolution of plant species. I am particularly interested in investigating the genetic basis of adaptive traits, population structure, demographic history, natural selection, and genotype–environment interactions using modern genomic and computational approaches. My research integrates next-generation sequencing, bioinformatics, phenotyping, and statistical genetics to understand the relationship between genomic variation, phenotypic diversity, and environmental conditions. I have a strong interest in common garden experiments, genome-wide association studies (GWAS), selective sweep analysis, and population genomic approaches for identifying genes and pathways associated with adaptation and agronomically important traits. I am also interested in studying crop evolution, domestication, biodiversity, and the conservation of plant genetic resources. A major focus of my work is understanding how crop wild relatives and natural populations respond to changing climates and how this knowledge can be utilized to develop climate-resilient and sustainable agricultural systems. In addition to plant genomics, my academic background in Biosciences has provided me with broad knowledge of both Botany and Zoology, fostering an interdisciplinary interest in genetics, molecular biology, ecology, evolution, and biodiversity research. I am passionate about applying genomics, bioinformatics, and integrative biology to address challenges related to crop improvement, food security, conservation, and sustainable agriculture.
