About me

Dr. Rekha Chaubey, Scientist-C at AIIMS with 20 years’ expertise in molecular hematology and diagnostics, specializes in PCR, NGS, and assay development. Awarded the Geeta Mittal Gold Medal, SERB-DST Young Scientist Award, and ICMR fellowships, she is committed to research, quality systems, and mentorship.

Interests: My primary research and professional interests lie in Molecular Hematology and Cancer Genomics, with a strong focus on the genetic, epigenetic, and cytogenetic landscape of Myelodysplastic Syndromes (MDS) and other hematologic malignancies. I am deeply engaged in molecular diagnostics of leukemias, including BCR‑ABL (qualitative and quantitative), JAK2, CALR, FLT3, AML fusion panels, and mutation profiling relevant to disease biology, prognosis, and therapeutic response. I also work extensively in solid tumor molecular diagnostics, particularly breast and lung cancer, involving EGFR, PIK3CA, ALK/ROS rearrangements, and IHC/FISH‑based characterization. My interests extend to Next‑Generation Sequencing, methylation‑specific assays, telomerase dynamics, and translational biomarker discovery. A parallel area of interest is laboratory management and quality systems, including assay development, SOP creation, validation, and participation in national EQAS programs to strengthen diagnostic accuracy and reproducibility.
