About me
Ph.D. graduate in biomaterials and nanobiotechnology with research expertise in developing chitosan-based nanocomposites for wound healing applications. Experienced in the green synthesis of silver nanoparticles using plant extracts (Catharanthus roseus) and their integration into marine-derived polymers (Portunus sanguinolentus) to design biocompatible hydrogel systems.
Interests: I have prior research experience through my Ph.D., where I worked extensively on biomaterials and nanotechnology with a focus on wound healing applications. My doctoral research, titled “Synergistic wound healing capacity of silver nanoparticles from Catharanthus roseus and chitosan from Portunus sanguinolentus in Wistar rats,” involved both in vitro and in vivo studies. I synthesized and characterized silver nanoparticles and developed chitosan-based hydrogels, followed by evaluating their antimicrobial efficacy and wound healing potential. During this work, I gained hands-on experience in cell culture techniques (including fibroblast cell lines), animal handling, histological analysis, and advanced characterization methods such as SEM and EDAX. My research also required understanding cellular responses, tissue regeneration, and biomaterial–cell interactions at a microscopic level.
