About me

Seasoned Laboratory Director with 12+ years of corporate experience leading NABL and CAP-accredited clinical genetic laboratories. Proven expertise in directing end-to-end laboratory operations from sample to report while managing P&L, and optimizing COGs. Combines deep technical proficiency in molecular genetics, cytogenetics, and biochemical genetics with strong business acumen, quality leadership (ISO 15189:2022, CAP), & a track record of commercially launching first-in-India assays.

Interests: I have over 25 years of experience in the field of Genetics which includes Masters and PhD Degrees in BioMedical Genetics. My PhD thesis on Human molecular genetics along with 6 years of post doctoral research in the USA enriched me with a wide range of experience in various aspects of genetics, genomics, and molecular biology. My research was on diversified fields of work, including human molecular genetics, cytogenetics, animal model based physiological genomics, cell line based tumor research both invitro and invivo (mouse models), epigenetics and more. Additionally, I have teaching experience, and also basic kit preparation/ manufacturing experience. After my postdoctoral research, in the past 13 years I have established a commercial molecular lab from scratch and subsequently handled the entire laboratory including molecular genetics, cytogenetics and biochemical genetics of Revvity Health Sciences as a laboratory director, in a profitable manner. I am well versed with the laboratory preparation and wetlab aspects of NGS and other molecular tests from a CAP and ISO 15189:2022 perspective.
