About me
I did my PHD from Siksha O Anusandhan and two postdoc in chemistry.
Interests: My research work focuses on the designing and developments of cost-effective visible light active nanostructured semiconductor photo(electro)catalysts for energy and environmental applications, which includes solar water splitting reaction, oxygen reduction, phenol oxidation, organic dye degradation and Cr (VI) reduction reaction. I have synthesized nonmetal doped graphitic carbon nitride and modified the polymer with varieties of semiconductors including bismuth vanadate, silver phosphate, titania and plasmonic nanoalloy of gold, silver and copper. The synthesized catalysts were then characterized via various physicochemical techniques such as XRD, HRTEM, FESEM, XPS, FT-IR, UV-Vis DRS, PL, TRPL, surface area etc. After the successful fabrication of desired catalyst, I have tested their photo(electro)chemical activities with techniques like cyclic voltammetry, linear sweep voltammetry, Impedance spectroscopy and Mott-Schottky analysis and explored their photoactivity towards energy generation and environment abatement process. Apart from this I have hands on experience in monitoring organic reaction through TLC, work up of the reaction product using column chromatography, characterization of the ligands using H-1 and C-13 NMR. I have an hand on experience in computational software Gaussian16 and ORCA.
