About me
Genetic Engineering graduate with experience in clinical genomics, molecular biology, and bioinformatics. Worked at Aravind Eye Hospital and Kyvor Genomics in sequencing and oncology genomics. Skilled in Python and R for data analysis. Passionate mentor teaching CRISPR, molecular cloning, and NGS, focused on simplifying concepts and helping students build strong fundamentals and practical skills.
Interests: My research interests are centered around understanding how genetic variations contribute to human diseases and how this knowledge can be applied in real-world settings. I am particularly interested in clinical genomics and oncology, especially in how genomic data can be used to support precision medicine and improve patient outcomes. I enjoy working with next-generation sequencing (NGS) data, including whole exome and genome analysis, and I am interested in the process of identifying and interpreting genetic variants. I also have a strong inclination toward bioinformatics, where I use tools and programming languages like Python and R to analyze and make sense of complex genomic datasets. In addition, I am curious about functional genomics and transcriptomics, particularly in understanding how gene expression and regulation play a role in disease. I am also interested in emerging technologies like CRISPR and their potential applications in research and therapeutics. Beyond research, I am deeply passionate about making these concepts easier to understand and more accessible to others. I enjoy breaking down complex topics and connecting them to practical applications, especially while mentoring students in genetics and bioinformatics. Overall, I am interested in combining both experimental and computational approaches, while also contributing to learning, knowledge sharing, and the growing field of genomics.
