About me
Ph.D. from IIT Kanpur with postdoctoral experience at City University of Hong Kong, specializing in physical metallurgy, mechanical behaviour, severe plastic deformation, and sheet metal fabrication. Skilled in SEM, EBSD, and XRD. I offer strong fundamentals, practical insights, and research-oriented teaching to help students develop analytical and problem-solving skills for real-world applications.
Interests: My research interests lie in Physical Metallurgy and Mechanical Behaviour of Materials, with a strong focus on understanding the interplay between processing, microstructure, and properties. I specialize in Severe Plastic Deformation (SPD) techniques such as CGP, CCRP, and CGR, aimed at developing ultrafine-grained materials with enhanced mechanical performance. My work emphasizes microstructural engineering through advanced sheet metal fabrication processes, where I have contributed to innovative die design strategies to control strain distribution and improve material response. I have extensive expertise in materials characterization techniques, including SEM, EBSD, and XRD, enabling detailed analysis of deformation mechanisms, recrystallization behavior, and failure characteristics. Overall, my research is centered on designing and optimizing processing routes to achieve superior strength–ductility combinations, bridging fundamental materials science with practical engineering applications.
