About me
I have mentored students (UG & PG) in both empirical and theoretical research, offering guidance across all stages of the research process. My experience enables me to support learners with methodological rigor and practical insight, particularly within psychological and crimino-socio-legal contexts. As a reviewer for several Scopus indexed journals, I bring a strong understanding of publication standards, allowing me to guide students in producing high-quality, publication-ready research.
Interests: My research interests lie in criminal and social psychology, with a focus on the behavioral analysis of deviance and its underlying psychological mechanisms. I draw extensively on social psychology to examine how socialization processes, group dynamics, normative beliefs, and cognitive distortions interact with emotional regulation and individual vulnerabilities to shape offending behavior. My work engages with constructs such as affect regulation, moral disengagement, identity, and situational influences in explaining the progression of criminal and outwardly social actions. A key area of my research involves developing conceptual and pathway-based models that integrate individual, social, and contextual determinants of behavior. I employ both quantitative and qualitative methodologies, including statistical analysis, psychometric assessment, and thematic or narrative inquiry, to generate empirically grounded and contextually nuanced insights. This mixed-methods approach allows for a deeper understanding of both measurable behavioral patterns and lived experiences. I am also engaged in studying post-incarceration or post- addiction transformation, focusing on reflective processes, cognitive restructuring, prison social interactions, and the role of environmental and institutional contexts in shaping accountability and behavioral change. My work examines varying trajectories of acceptance, denial, and reform among offenders and rehabilitators. Additionally, my research bridges academic theory with field-based insights drawn from direct engagement with custodial and marginalized populations. I aim to contextualize psychological frameworks within the Indian socio-legal landscape, contributing to interdisciplinary, evidence-based approaches in criminal justice, rehabilitation, and social reintegration.
