About me
I am a Medical Mycology researcher and recently completed my Ph.D. at the University of Delhi. My expertise includes antifungal resistance, molecular epidemiology, fungal pathogen characterization, genomics, and microbiology research. I have worked on emerging fungal pathogens and published research on their epidemiology and resistance mechanisms. I can mentor students in research methodology, laboratory techniques, data analysis, scientific writing, and critical thinking skills.
Interests: My research interests focus on the molecular epidemiology, antifungal resistance mechanisms, and pathogenesis of emerging fungal pathogens, particularly non-albicans Candida species. My work investigates the genetic and molecular basis of azole resistance, including mutations in resistance-associated genes, gene expression dynamics, copy number variations, and genomic adaptations. I am also interested in understanding the environmental persistence, transmission dynamics, and population structure of clinically important yeasts such as Candida auris, Candida tropicalis, Candida krusei, Lodderomyces elongisporus, and Wickerhamomyces anomalus. Additionally, my research explores novel antifungal agents and combination therapies to combat drug-resistant fungal infections, integrating genomic, transcriptomic, metabolomic, and immunological approaches to improve diagnosis, treatment, and infection control strategies.
