About me
I am a research scholar with a strong foundation in molecular biology, biochemistry, and cancer-related translational research, and I am particularly committed to mentoring students in scientific thinking and writing. My training combines rigorous experimental work with sustained experience in manuscript preparation, proposal writing, and academic communication, which directly aligns with the expectations for a research mentor in biomedical and life sciences.
Interests: My research interfaces broadly with molecular biosciences, translational research, and scientific communication. I am particularly interested in how molecular and cellular mechanisms, such as enzyme regulation, signaling pathways, and proteome‑level changes, translate into disease phenotypes, therapeutic targets, and biomarkers across different cancer and disease models. This interest is not limited to a single protein or pathway but extends to the wider stream of problems requiring careful experimental design and integrative analysis to connect basic biology with clinical or translational questions. Equally important to me is the role of scientific writing in shaping successful biomedical careers. Written communication is a core research skill. I am therefore keenly interested in developing and applying structured writing support for students, through workshops, writing groups, and one‑to‑one mentoring, that improves their ability to craft clear manuscripts, thesis, and grant proposals. This includes helping them move from raw data to coherent narratives, understand journal conventions, and navigate the peer‑review process. Few of my publications are communicated, under review. I am also interested in mentor–mentee writing partnerships, how advisors and trainees can collaborate on drafts in a way that builds genuine independence rather than dependence. This involves exploring best practices in feedback, collaborative writing, and progressive transfer of responsibility for planning, drafting, and revising scientific work. Overall, my research interests lie in two interconnected streams: generating robust, interdisciplinary biomedical data, and building effective models of mentoring and scientific writing support that help emerging researchers become confident, productive scientists.
