About me
I am a Ph.D. neurobiologist and NIH-funded investigator at the University of Pittsburgh with 10+ years in translational neuroscience and protein biochemistry. I have secured K99/R00 and MOSAIC UE5 funding and published in Science Advances and Nature Communications. I mentor researchers in experimental design, data analysis, and writing, and help students develop clear, impactful research questions.
Interests: My research focuses on the molecular mechanisms underlying neurodegeneration, with an emphasis on TDP-43 proteinopathy in ALS and FTD. I investigate how traumatic brain injury and disrupted posttranslational modification alter protein homeostasis, nucleocytoplasmic transport, and phase separation, driving neuronal dysfunction. Using cellular, rodent, Drosophila, and human tissue models, my work aims to identify disease mechanisms and therapeutic targets.
