Interests: - Translational scientist leveraging data science and computational modeling expertise to engage in advancing biomedical sciences. - Main focus on complex networks as per bio-omics-health space, and domains like cancer, medical imaging and radiomics, digital medicine, computational biology. - My most recent activities are collaborative with various scientific organizations that operate in the quant bio-health and digital space (as partner, advisor, consultant). - Actively participating to national and international programs like NSF, NCI, NIH, DOD in USA plus others in Italy, France, Belgium, Netherlands, Qatar, UAE, China, etc. to review and assess grants and projects. - Held (2019-2024) two awards in Multiple PI grants with NSF-NIH in radiomics, data science, interactome networks, cancer and Huntington’s disease. - Partnered a big data startup (Quantitas, 2014-2016) creating and directing the Q-Science lab located in Venice (VEGA Science and Tech Park). - Honorary professorships from the Chinese Academy of Science (2011, Shanghai) and the Fiocruz Foundation (2008-2010, Rio de Janeiro, Program, Capes - FIOCRUZ), and visiting scientific appointments at the International Centre for Theoretical Physics (2003, Condensed Matter, Trieste), and at the Institut des Hautes Études Scientifiques (IHES) (2010, Paris). - Participated in US academic programs at SAMSI, IMA, MSRI, IPAM and Simons Institutes. - Research at MSRI, UC Berkeley, Boston Univ, Serono in Evry (Head of Methods), CRS4, Head of Quant Systems Biology, PI at CNR Pisa and Coordinator in Big Data in Health
