About me

I, Dr. Ragini Singh is a research-oriented chemistry professional with a PhD in Chemistry from Banaras Hindu University. I has postdoctoral research experience with prestigious organizations including Defence Research and Development Organisation and Indian Council of Medical Research, along with industrial and academic experience. Currently serving as an Assistant Professor at IIMT College,

Interests: My research interests lie at the intersection of nanotechnology, materials chemistry, and biomedical applications, with a particular focus on the development of multifunctional nanocarrier systems for targeted drug delivery and cancer therapeutics. I am especially interested in designing smart and stimuli-responsive nanomaterials that can improve the therapeutic efficacy of anticancer drugs while minimizing their systemic toxicity and side effects. My research aims to integrate chemistry, nanoscience, and biomedical engineering approaches to address current challenges in cancer diagnosis and treatment. A major area of my research focuses on the synthesis and functionalization of nanostructured materials such as graphene oxide, graphene quantum dots, metal-organic frameworks (MOFs), magnetic ferrite nanoparticles, and hybrid nanocomposites for biomedical applications. I am interested in exploring their physicochemical properties, biocompatibility, surface modifications, and drug loading capacities to create efficient and selective drug delivery platforms. In particular, I have worked on folic acid-conjugated nanocarriers for receptor-mediated targeted delivery to cancer cells, aiming to enhance cellular uptake and therapeutic outcomes. Another important aspect of my research involves combinatorial therapeutic systems integrating chemotherapy, radiotherapy, and targeted therapy. I am interested in developing multifunctional nanosystems capable of simultaneous drug delivery, imaging, and therapeutic action. Such systems have the potential to provide controlled and sustained drug release, overcome multidrug resistance, and improve treatment precision. My work also includes the investigation of pH-responsive and stimuli-triggered release mechanisms for site-specific drug delivery in tumor microenvironments. I am deeply interested in translational nanomedicine and the application of advanced materials in colorectal cancer and other life-threatening diseases. My current research explores the use of dual-drug and triple-conjugated nanocarriers for synergistic therapeutic effects. By combining chemotherapeutic agents with functional nanomaterials, I aim to develop innovative treatment strategies that can improve patient outcomes and reduce adverse effects associated with conventional therapies. In addition to nanomedicine, I have a strong interest in medicinal chemistry and bioactive natural products, particularly flavonoids such as chrysin and their pharmacological potential. I am interested in improving the bioavailability and therapeutic efficiency of poorly soluble bioactive compounds using nanoformulations and carrier-based systems. My work also includes studying pharmacokinetics, controlled drug release, and molecular interactions of therapeutic agents with nanomaterials. Beyond research, I am passionate about interdisciplinary collaboration, scientific innovation, and mentoring students in advanced research methodologies. I actively engage in proposal writing, scientific publications, and the development of novel research ideas aligned with emerging healthcare and technological needs. My long-term research goal is to contribute to the advancement of precision medicine through the development of safe, effective, and clinically translatable nanotherapeutic systems. Through my academic and research journey, including my experiences at Banaras Hindu University, Defence Research and Development Organisation, Indian Council of Medical Research, and IIMT College, I continue to pursue innovative solutions in chemistry and biomedical sciences that can create meaningful societal impact.
