Metabolomics
About me
I am working in the field of Plant metabolomics with expertise in plant stress physiology, plant biochemical analysis with metabolomics experience of multiple platforms including (UPLC-MS/MS, GC-MS, GC-SPME-MS and HPLC). The theme of my doctoral research emphasizes the characterization of metabolic pathways and adaptive responses in Withania somnifera under biotic and abiotic stress conditions using comprehensive metabolomics, physiological, biochemical, and gene expression analyses.
Interests: • Plant physiology & biochemistry Plant stress physiology (biotic and abiotic stress responses); gas exchange dependent physiology and metabolism; chlorophyll estimation; primary carbon metabolism (TCA cycle, amino acid metabolism); redox biology and oxidative stress (ROS); biochemical assays related to phytohormones, lignin, and secondary metabolism. • Metabolomics & analytical platforms LC-MS/MS (UPLC-HRMS/QTOF), Orbitrap MS/MS system and GC-MS and GC-SPME-MS for targeted and untargeted metabolomics; metabolic fingerprinting and pathway-level profiling of primary and specialized metabolism. • Data analysis Metabolomics data processing (MS-DIAL, XCMS, MetaboAnalyst, GNPS); multivariate statistics and machine learning (PCA, PLS-DA, Random Forest); Python-based workflows for data integration and visualization. • Plant experimental systems Plant tissue culture and in-vitro propagation; controlled-environment plant experiments; field experiments, gene expression analysis (qRT-PCR) and transcriptomics data.
