About me
I am a quantitative and qualitative researcher with eight years of experience in research project management involving extensive experimental design, statistical data analysis, and dissemination of research findings. I have a wealth of experience in the design of behavioral and EEG studies to investigate cognitive phenomena. My experience also includes 10+ years as an educator, including work as a lab instructor and lecturer for undergraduate courses teaching statistics and research methods.
Interests: I study a variety of topics related to how learning symbolic systems impacts subsequent learning processes. My past work has involved investigations into how acquiring knowledge of linguistic and programming systems affects the development of skills and knowledge scaffolding that facilitates subsequent learning. Some of my past projects involved evaluating how learning class labels supports the ability to classify novel stimuli, examining whether informal computer science education advances the development of certain cognitive skills associated with Computational Thinking, and investigating how caregiver-child interactions centered around different activities affect word learning.
