About me

I completed my Ph.D. in Plant Biochemistry at Biopolymer Analytics, University of Potsdam, Germany, in September 2024. Previously, I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences from Kumaun University, India in 2015, followed by a master’s degree in Biotechnology from Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi, India in 2017. Briefly, my master’s thesis aimed at discovering common therapeutic strategies that could suppress amyloid formation, implicated in several neurodegenerative diseases.

Interests: Research Interests: My PhD project titled “Analysis and manipulation of starch-related metabolism in Arabidopsis thaliana” involved a comprehensive analysis of proteins associated with starch metabolism through the application of a variety of experimental techniques in the model plant Arabidopsis. Protein Aggregation: Studying amyloid inhibition and finding therapeutic uses for polyphenols. Biophysical Analysis: Using tools like ITC, DSC, and Spectroscopy to understand protein thermodynamics and kinetics. Protein Engineering: Developing methods for high-yield protein isolation and purification. Molecular Biology: Advancing genetic engineering techniques, including cloning and qPCR. Imaging & Diagnostics: Utilizing laser confocal microscopy and assay development for real-world scientific impact. With a strong background in biotechnology, along with hands-on experience in research, data handling, analysis, and scientific writing, my skills align well with the advertised position. I have in-depth knowledge of protein biochemistry, particularly in the function- ality and applications of various plant proteins in the process of starch metabolism. Additionally, I have strong experience in developing and validating various analytical methods for protein and glycan characterization. My experience spans various analytical techniques such as MALDI-TOF, tandem mass spectrometry, ELISA, capillary electrophoresis, Circular dichroism, etc., enabling me to provide precise and reproducible analysis of complex biomolecules. Moreover, I hold strong expertise in recombinant protein expression in heterologous systems and their purification.
