I am Owais Ahmed, currently pursuing my M.Sc. in Bioinformatics (2024–2026) at Jamia Millia Islamia University, New Delhi. I am actively seeking supervision for my major dissertation project, scheduled to begin in January 2026, in the areas of Genomics and Next-Generation Sequencing (NGS). I have successfully completed my minor project on lncRNA expression analysis, which involved RNA-Seq data processing, differential expression analysis, visualization (volcano plots, heatmaps, MA plots), and machine learning–based classification for identifying cancer-associated lncRNA signatures. This work provided me with a strong foundation in transcriptomics and cancer genomics. My technical expertise includes RNA-Seq and variant analysis, gene regulatory network (GRN) reconstruction, systems biology approaches, and bioinformatics pipeline development, with hands-on experience in Python, R, DESeq2, GATK, FastQC, SAMtools, and machine learning methods such as SVM and Random Forest. I am keen to pursue my major dissertation in genomics, NGS data analysis, cancer bioinformatics, or integrative multi-omics, and I am highly motivated to contribute meaningfully to ongoing research while developing a rigorous and impactful thesis under expert guidance.
